In this series I have aimed to give form to the transient glory of the
flowers I nurture and observe in my garden, and beyond. The high
degree of naturalism is achieved by building-up transparent layers of
watercolor glazes to bring to light the translucent fragility that gives
each flower its character. Paradoxically, as the flower wilts, the portrait
emerges.
